Lac Retaud - Col des Andérets - La Palette - Isenau
The starting point for the tour is the magnificent mountain lake Lac Retaud, which lies to the north, just above the Col du Pillon. You can reach the lake by car from Col du Pillon or in about 45 minutes on foot (from Col du Pillon). First, the trail leads away from the lake in a northeasterly direction, at first rather flat and later it gets a bit steeper, especially just below the Col de Voré. High above the mountain trail, the summit of La Palette shows its rugged side. Passing the Chalet Vieux (where you can buy cheese or just sit down and take a little break), the route leads to the Col des Andérets with a magnificent panorama. Deep down, Lake Arnen can be seen. From the Col des Andérets you can reach the summit of La Palette in a good 25 minutes. Back on the Col des Andérets follows the final section with the descent to Isenau and back to Lac Retaud.
